Welcome!
When I retired, I prayed and asked God what he would like me to do with the time I had available now. The answer came back quickly and clearly and that was to write a book about my faith journey. I did not really like that answer, so I asked again just to be sure! The answer didn’t change. I never really enjoyed writing and had no plans to write a book. Since I had gotten what seemed to be a pretty strong message, I thought it best to listen. As it turned out, writing the book was very therapeutic. I was able to relive many joyful times and also confront difficult times throughout my life. I wrote my first book, “Bet on the Turtle, My Long, Slow, Journey of Faith” in 2019. I have since written a second book called, “I Love Dogs, A Tribute to Man’s Best Friend” (2025) and a song entitled, “Do You Believe? (The Christmas Story) (2025). Take a look around! We are so glad that you are here!

Speaking Engagements: If your group is interested in having Jim come for a book signing and presentation, let us know. We have done presentations at libraries, book clubs, retirement communities and churches. There is no fee for this service within a 50 mile radius. Fees for presentations scheduled outside of this distance will be mutually agreed upon. We do ask that the audience is provided with an opportunity to purchase the book at a discounted price after the program.

When Things Just Don’t Make Sense.

“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.”- Isaiah 43:2 NLT. The truth is when we look around at our world, it just doesn’t make sense at times, and it’s only natural to ask, “Why?” “Why the pain? Why the suffering? Why the horrors?” Sometimes, no answer, sometimes silence, sometimes the circumstances worsen. What do we do with this? Some turn away. Some call it naive to have faith when the world looks so dark. So why believe? Why stay? Because we were never promised that this world would be safe, but we were promised we would never be alone in it. Jesus loves you, and He is with you, no matter where you are.
